These Terms of Use govern your use of paloaltobookkeeping.com (this
“website”). By using it, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use
the site — you can still reach me directly at
[email protected].

1. This website isn’t the engagement

Browsing this site, submitting the contact form, or booking a call does not
make you a client and does not create a bookkeeping, accounting, or
advisory relationship of any kind. That relationship exists only once we’ve
both signed an engagement letter. Until then, nothing on this site should be
read as advice about your specific situation.

2. Not professional advice

Content on this site — including blog posts and service-page descriptions —
is general information about bookkeeping topics, not advice tailored to
your business. It is not a substitute for professional guidance, and using
it doesn’t create the kind of relationship that comes with that guidance.

Palo Alto Bookkeeping provides bookkeeping services only. I do not
prepare tax returns and do not provide tax, legal, or investment advice. I
am not a CPA, and nothing on this site should be read as claiming otherwise.
For tax, legal, or investment questions, talk to a licensed CPA or attorney,
I’m glad to flag when that’s the right move, and can refer you to one.

3. Who this site is for

This site and the services described on it are directed at business
owners, not consumers acting in a personal capacity, and not children. If
you’re under 18, please don’t use this site.

4. Content and ownership

The text, design, and graphics on this site belong to Palo Alto Bookkeeping
unless otherwise noted. You’re welcome to read, share a link, or quote a
short excerpt with attribution. You don’t have permission to republish
pages wholesale, scrape the site for another product, or use the Palo Alto
Bookkeeping name or content to imply an affiliation that doesn’t exist.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t use this site to do anything unlawful, to try to access parts of it
you’re not meant to, to interfere with how it runs, or to submit anything
through the contact form that’s abusive, fraudulent, or someone else’s
information without their consent.

6. Third-party links and embedded tools

This site links to and embeds third-party services — currently Calendly for
scheduling. When you use those, you’re subject to that provider’s own terms
and privacy policy, not this one. I don’t control and am not responsible for
third-party sites or services linked from here.

7. No warranty

This site and its content are provided “as is.” I try to keep it accurate
and current, but I don’t promise it’s error-free, uninterrupted, or
current at every moment you read it — a service description or an article
can lag behind what’s actually true.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, Palo Alto Bookkeeping isn’t liable
for damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website —
including indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. This section
covers the website only; if you’re a client, the limitation of liability in
your engagement letter governs the actual services.

9. Changes to this site and these terms

I can update this site’s content or these terms at any time; the “Last
updated” date above reflects the current version. Continuing to use the
site after a change means you accept the update.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without
regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

11. Privacy

How information submitted through this site is collected and used is
covered separately, in the Privacy Policy.
